My boyfriend, Andrew, took me on a Disney trip, and this is how it went!
Day 1: We flew from AUS to LAX together. We had made the decision to rent a car to prevent the hassle of Uber rides from Huntington to Disney Park. Andrew has friends who live in Huntington who were generous enough to let us stay with them. We ate burritos at Sancho’s Tacos, followed by coffee from 602 about an hour later; both were absolutely delicious. We hung out with his friends before grabbing dinner at ZeroZero Pizzeria. We went out on the town that night, but didn’t stay out too late since we were going to Disney the next morning.

Day 2: We woke up bright and early so we could spend the entire day at the park. Andrew got us coffee from 602 while I got ready. We drove to the park and started our adventure. We got the fast passes on our phones, which I definitely recommend. We also decided to get the hopper pass; we were hoping to only get it for the second day, but if your tickets are combined you have to get the hopper for both days. This way we had more time to enjoy the park and didn’t feel rushed. We rode so many rides and had plenty of tasty treats. Andrew luckily got us a spot to eat at the Blue Bayou inside the Pirates ride, when usually it is booked out 60 days in advance! We went on the new Star Wars ride and were both left in awe; the effects were phenomenal! We felt nostalgic walking the park and riding the rides we once rode as kids. We were hoping to catch the fireworks that night, but they weren’t going off when they were supposed to and feeling overcrowded and exhausted, we decided to call it a night instead.

Day 3: We had the same morning routine of waking up early and grabbing coffee before heading to the park, this time starting at California Adventure. It had changed since the last time I had been there; they added Avenger-themed rides and a place in the middle of the park called San Fransokyo (a play on San Francisco and Tokyo). We went around Cars Land, strolled through Grizzly Peak, and grabbed lunch before going to Disney. We spent the rest of the day riding rides we weren’t able to the day before and re-riding our favorites. My favorite part was at the end of the day when we were so tired we decided to ride the train that goes around the entire park.

Day 4: Andrew had to work most of the day, so I relaxed at the beach! We got sushi with a group of his friends. We enjoyed taking it easy after the past few days being busy! We all went out for drinks at sunset to end the day.
Day 5: We had to get coffee from 602 one last time. It was just too good; we knew we’d miss it once we left. It was a perfect day outside, so Andrew and I took a long walk on the beach with his friend Ryan. We got lunch at Sandy’s Beach Shack to delight in some yummy food with an ocean view. I went back to the beach house for a nap before we went to the farmers market at sunset. We wandered through the market; between delectable fruits and great-smelling candles, it was the perfect way to end our last day.

We left early the next morning, Andrew flying back to Austin and me back to base in Washington DC. This was the first big trip my boyfriend, and I had taken and it’s one of my favorite memories now. I can’t wait until we have more stories like this one!
